The Illuminating Engineering Society was founded in 1906 to establish scientific lighting recommendations and to advance knowledge of the the lighted environment for the benefit and improvement of society. We are a non-profit membership organization, seeking to improve the lighted environment by bringing together those with lighting knowledge and by translating that knowledge into actions that benefit the general populace.
